Only You Can Be So Perfectly You

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. George Bernard Shaw

I am often asked what exactly “finding yourself” means and since I don’t entirely believe in that expression, I share my own concept of this.  I believe more that life is what you make it and it truly is about “creating yourself.” That is why I love this quote so much.  So what exactly is the difference? Finding yourself seems to indicate a journey of trying to find who you are and that this may depend on some situation, place or thing along the way. I believe that it is more important that you know what is important to you, what your values are and who you would like to meet each day when you look in the mirror. Once you know this, then go out and create that version of yourself by aligning your actions to your vision. Every moment gives you the chance to decide who you want to be and to act on that. Stop spending time trying to find something that is already there and start focusing on simply being who you want to be.
